Hello there 👋 ,

I have always considered myself a full-stack software engineer, until this week. I had to build a system that will store error details, generate a ticket number and return that back to the app’s frontend. Sounds simple right? Well, it wasn’t. Sure, creating the API was easy enough but then I had to work with AWS, Terraform, databases, partitioning, environments and so much more.

This week I realised, I had so much to learn and I can not - yet - call myself a full-stack engineer.

Enjoy the letter 🚀 .

What do you call it when a database administrator tries to unlock their house door with the car keys?

A foreign key violation.

EduVibz - Think Spotify for learning

EduVibz is a music-based learning platform built by Jason that transforms the school curriculum into catchy, subject-aligned songs.

Educational music isn't a new concept. Research shows that music can double retention rates in language learning. It significantly enhances both student engagement and memory formation. Music helps students not only retain information in the short term but also store it more effectively for long-term recall.

While educational music is widely studied, it is sparsely implemented. Government-funded literacy programs have been using it for years. But the challenge is that these programs often struggle to stay up to date with the curriculum and role out content at scale.

EduVibz solves this challenge… with AI.

The platform can produce high-quality, curriculum-aligned music quickly by using AI.

All music will be free during the open beta period, allowing Jason to concentrate on gathering feedback and developing the platform. Jason is heavily focused on automating business processes, as streamlining platform management is essential while he maintains his full-time job.

You could work for Entelect…

The reason I like Entelect is because I am a pretty big techie and with Entelect, I get to code and work on awesome projects, attend tech talks on a weekly basis, be surrounded with people like me and even become part of a club.

Most of all, I get to grow.

Everything will be 200 ok :)

Earlier I mentioned how mastering software architecture is my next adventure, and Vikram Bindal is one of the smartest, most capable engineers I have had the honor of working with. Definitely someone I will be bothering a lot on my journey. But today’s piece is not about my journey, no, it is in fact about Vikram’s blog.

Everything will be 200 ok :) is a blog by Vikram which currently focuses on AI and implementing AI into software products.

I will definitely be reading each blog post very, very soon.

Meet Jason Viviers

Jason Viviers is a Business Analyst from a small town called Weza. He grew up around trees and dirt roads, with a father who worked on the forest plantations. Jason doesn't fit the typical profile of someone in the IT industry. Yet that's exactly where he landed, despite the field not being among his first several career choices.

While studying Bcom Honours in Business Management, Jason started hand-blending perfumes with bespoke scents for people. This small business on the side led to helping local celebs, landing national radio, TV and even featuring in magazines. Eventually, Jason opened a boutique using some seed capital he won from a youth entrepreneurship competition. However, he wasn’t getting the traction he needed and ultimately explored other opportunities.

After relocating to Johannesburg, Jason transitioned from his perfume business to a marketing role before eventually securing a position in IT, where he discovered SQL—which became his entry point into the software world.

Jason went on to complete over 40 courses, both online and formal, in everything from project management to cloud architecture. All the roles he landed revolved around systems and business analysis.

Today, Jason is a software professional. Someone who can map out problems, guide conversations, and help create software that actually solves business challenges in a clean, thoughtful way.
