🚗 Is that used car a good deal?

Imagine being added to a war chat accidently...

Hey there 👋 ,

Last week, I enjoyed a nice holiday in Nelson Mandela Bay Port Elizabeth Gqeberha. We visited some neat restaurants and most beautiful beaches. My favourites were definitely Richmond Hill Brewing Co and Sardinia Bay Beach. From a technical point of view though, I did not achieve much to be honest. I was recently self-diagnosed with a fatal case of burnout, but I am happy to report that drinking cocktails at the beach is an effective treatment. Be careful though, while it might treat the symptom, it does not tackle the core cause of burnout. That is something entirely different…

Why did the computer catch a cold? It had too many windows open.

Enjoy the letter 🚀 .

P.s. I had to Google Port Elizabeth to find out how to spell Gqeberha.

CarPriceValue

Built by Jason Wallace, CarPriceValue is a neat product that helps you make an informed decision when buying a used car. To get started, you provide it with a link of a car listing, for example this 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, and it will compare the vehicles listing price to other similar cars on the market. With CarPriceValue, you can:

  • Make informed buying decisions using the same values that dealerships base the pricing off of.

  • Save and compare car deals based on savings.

  • Keep track of prices as they change with notifications when the price increase or decreases.

There are more features coming soon including some fine grained pricing models, but I would definitely give this tool a chance if you are looking at buying a vehicle soon.

Keyboard Smashers place 2nd in UCT Developer Society

Dylan Friedman and his team, Conor Mckeag and Tziyona Cohen came up with a fully responsive web application that partially automates your insurance claim form with your account information while keeping you up to date on notifications regarding the footage captured of your car and the claim itself. This tool was built to help and motivate people to share car accident footage in order to further enable Resembler in transforming how we see road safety.

Built with NextJS, Python, MongoDB and Docker, they were placed 2nd place at the recent UCT Developer Society and Resembler hackathon.

Apparently, Dylan slept under a desk at some point 🤔 .
