🚀 Prepare for exams with AI

AI has officially made its way into a LaunchWeek issue, but the tools being built are INSANE!

Hey there 👋,

I had a new washing machine delivered this week and at first I thought the machine is cool because it was a washing / dryer combo which means one machine that does two things. Cool right!? Well, I learned that it can actually do so much more. It can steam my clothes, use weight, ion and moisture sensors to determine how much detergent it should use and for how long it should wash/dry and to put the cherry on top, it comes with an app that let’s me monitor its energy and water usage!

I just bought it because it was on sale at Makro.

Enjoy the letter 🚀.

LAUNCH

📚 Bag Learning

Built by Todd and Brett, Bag Learning is an AI-driven study platform that personalizes exam preparation for students. It takes student-provided content—such as textbooks, lecture slides, and notes—and aligns it with their academic abilities and available study time. Using AI and smart algorithms, Bag Learning filters and prioritizes the most relevant information, helping students study more efficiently and reduce last-minute exam stress. The goal is to modernize traditional, high-stakes university assessment methods and improve learning outcomes in South African universities. Bag Learning comes with a bunch of features, including:

  • Smart Notes – Easily upload, organize, and interact with study material.

  • AI Professor Chat-bot – Get instant answers and explanations for tough questions.

  • Exam Simulator – Practice with timed mock tests under real exam conditions.

  • Quizzes & Flashcards – Strengthen revision with interactive learning tools.

  • Smart Study Schedule – AI-driven personalized study plans for effective learning.

  • Insights & Analytics – Track progress, identify weak areas, and optimize study strategies.

After building Bag for almost a year and a half, and testing a POC with some economics students, they have decided to full send into the startup world.

Kyle’s team at Vodasure has expressed immense appreciation for the sacrifices he has made over the past few weeks. His dedication has been truly inspiring, and he continues to set a great example for those around him. Despite being new to both the team and the domain, he has managed to hold down the fort, tackle challenges head-on, and maintain a positive energy.

Although this nomination isn’t for a technical achievement, it highlights another crucial quality of an exceptional software engineer—being a great teammate.
